Learning Assistance Center

The Learning Assistance Center (LAC) is here to assist you in achieving academic success through supportive 导师ing & 资源. All services are provided free of charge to 目前就读 students, active alumni & 科罗拉多大学教职员.

Anytime you need assistance with your coursework, the Learning Assistance Center should be the first place you visit. The staff of the LAC will be able to provide walk-in and scheduled 导师ing sessions in many different areas, direct you to additional campus 资源, and provide access to needed materials and technology.

Services provided include:

Walk-In Tutoring in over 20 different content areas
One-on-one research support and instruction
Computerized 导师ials
Offering referrals for study skills, academic workshops and other supplemental materials
Facilitating study groups
Technological and media support for academic assistance in math, writing, foreign 语言等

Please note, once you schedule an 任命 you are responsible for keeping the 任命. Should a conflict arise, you will need to cancel the 任命 as soon 尽可能. Appointments not canceled within two hours of the start of the session, will be considered a missed 任命. If you accrue two missed 任命s in an academic year, you will lose your ability to schedule 导师ing 任命s and must rely solely on walk-in options.

Student Expectations

Keep your scheduled 任命s. Appointments are a privilege provided to students in order to meet your busy schedules. If you fail to keep two 任命s in an academic year, you will no longer be able to schedule 任命s and must utilize only walk-in hours for 导师ing services.
Don’t procrastinate. We are happy to assist you with study prep, note taking, brainstorming, and final revisions, but please do not wait until the last minute to request 导师ing services.
Come prepared to 导师ing sessions. Bring any relevant textbooks, syllabi, class materials, notes, and HARD COPIES of 论文. It is easier for the 导师s to provide excellent service if students bring the appropriate materials. Additionally, it is important for your 导师 to refer back to any relevant materials provided by your instructor.
Read your textbook and any relevant material provided by your instructor. It is difficult for students to understand the course material if they have not read assigned pages from the textbook. Additionally, the 导师s cannot provide students with assistance if they have not read the appropriate material(s).
Come with a plan and questions. Know what material you would like to cover within that 导师ing session. 积极 participate in the 导师ing sessions by having a list of questions to ask your assigned 导师.
Tutors cannot do your homework for you. We strongly encourage students to make an attempt at completing their assignment prior to requesting a 导师 so students can take note of the specific concepts with which they want help. You and your 导师 can review these concepts and work through 类似的问题. 然而, 导师 cannot do your homework for you nor help you with take home tests, quizzes, 或项目.
